Zuba Creative, Inc. and Doug Zuba
Designer and Digital Artist
I have been a creative person ever since I was a kid. For some reason, however, I didn’t really explore the artistic world until I had the opportunity to take my first art class as a senior at Wyandotte Roosevelt High School. Over that year I found my passion for the arts and decided to explore them in college.
in 1999 I was accepted to the Art and Design program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After 3 years of taking Industrial Design classes I realized that my love was in the graphic design world. During the summer of my junior year I created a company that is now morphed into what you see here, ZubaUSA (which was an action sports t-shirt company) to teach myself Adobe Illustrator as well as business. That upcoming fall I used my senior year to take as many graphic design and illustration classes I could get my hands on. In 2003, I graduated from UofM with a BFA in Design.
After college, I continued working on ZubaUSA while looking for my first design job. In November of 2003, I started my career in the marketing world. I was responsible for designing anything from event graphics, large-scale banners, print design, and even set renderings. After the first few years of being a designer locally in the Detroit area, I took a new job and moved to Atlanta to continue my career and hone my design skills. In 2008, after living in the south for two years I moved back to the Detroit area and started my own company, named Zuba Creative, Inc.
Over the past few years I have continued working with event and marketing companies as well as developing small businesses in the Detroit Area. My main goal is to help the Detroit area strive while doing what I love. I have created TheZuba.com to help facilitate this ideal. I plan on showcasing my design work while showing the world what I find inspirational or motivational. I want to encompass everything I am as a designer and put it on this website. I hope you like what you see here and I will continue to improve this website on a daily basis.
