Now your playing with Power!
Now that I have a retail outlet to sell my creativity I have had an influx of ideas that I wanted to finally get onto paper or in my case photoshop. This one is called the Power Mitten, it's an homage to my home state of Michigan and a small bit of my childhood. I hope you dig it, I plan on making this a print ASAP but was excited to show this one to the world as soon as I finished!

After a crazy week of getting my display together, organizing all my work and getting some new pieces printed and put onto canvas I am proud to say that I finally have my first retail location of Zuba prints. I have my booth in the back left corner of the Art is in Market store at Laurel Park Place mall in Livonia. Come stop in and have a look at what I have to offer as well as other Michigan artists from the area. Hope you see something you like and pick it up! In just a few short days I will be showcasing my work at the Laurel Park Place Art is in Market. In honor of the new venture I wanted to create a new print for the launch. I call it the Grays Sports Almanac Detroit. Those who don't understand, it's a reference to Back to the Future part II and the concept is similar to my Detroit to the Future print where I feature the history of Detroit but in this case it is only about the history of Detroit sports. I hope you dig it, I have some tiny easter eggs in here some that might be close to impossible to find, enjoy!
We wanted to replicate a virtual browsing experience of flipping through vinyl records at a record store. Re-live the past and get inspired! Vinyl Daily is the brainchild of Father/Son tandem Doug and Ed Zuba. With a collection of records consuming Ed’s garage, Doug (a graphic designer) would come over the house often to flip through the records looking for inspiration for a project, a routine was developing. Fantastic music from a lost medium also carried a visual that was the most interesting and true form of art of it’s particular time. Not only was the music classic but half of the fun was discovering the album art.
Because of that idea we thought why not try to document the collection in a form that was not only interesting for vinyl record fans but for artists, designers, creatives that are looking for unique inspiration. From that we decided high resolution imagery and a daily mixed bag vinyl record addition that we might have a concept that people might enjoy. We want to be a daily bookmarked site, a place you come to on a coffee break and it becomes a daily routine, we aren’t selling anything, we are just presenting something that we feel passionate about and believe many people can find something to enjoy daily from it!
Also, it doesn’t hurt that we have an inventory of a full garage of vinyl to pull from…

As a designer, I love to take things that are created on a screen and put them out into the world as something else, in this case a T-shirt. I have a company called Alternative Hero that features weekly designed limited edition t-shirts, this week I decided to create a mashup design from the retro detroit pistons and put it into the detroit baseball world. Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
Anyone who sits in front of a computer for a living has to keep something on in the background as you work. For me its either Opie and Anthony/Ron and Fez on SiriusXM ooooorrrr it's music. I want to feature some of the music I am into currently as well as some stuff I'm extremely excited for in the near future.

This Summer
For me it is two albums that I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on. The First one is Daft Punk's new album, that one comes out May 21st and is called Random Access Memories (watch the YouTube videos about the album below). Number two on my list is by Queens of the Stone Age, the album comes out on June 4th and you can listen to the new single called, My God Is The Sun have a listen and get excited for awesome summer music!
